Wings of Inspiration and Encouragement

My Journey

In 2012, my world shifted when I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. I’m not someone who draws attention to myself—I’m easy-going, friendly, and more of an observer than a talker. But behind that quiet nature is a deep well of faith, resilience, and love.

The road hasn’t been easy, but what carried me through was the unwavering support of my family-and especially my husband, who stood by me every step of the way. His quiet strength, presence, and love were constant, even when everything else felt uncertain.

One night, while driving through tears and uncertainty, I heard a still, small voice say, “I got this, I got you.” I knew without a doubt that it was God. And if He said it, it is so. That moment became my anchor. I chose not to let cancer define me or consume me. I held onto hope and leaned on love.

There was also a powerful turning point—one I didn’t even recognize until later. When I first told one of my cousins about my diagnosis, I was broken, tearful, unsure. She spoke life into me that night. She reminded me—without even realizing it—that I was still here, still full of purpose. In that conversation, I began to believe I would live a long life.

I’m sharing my story not because I think I’m special, but because I know what it feels like to be afraid, to feel lost, and to wonder what comes next. If you’re reading this, I want you to know: there is hope. No matter how dark the night, morning comes. And you are not alone.
